The design of this building was done by McKim Mead & White in 1907, during New York City’s Gilded Age. It has been carefully restored from its original state to be reborn in typically glamorous but understated style by Martin Brudnizki, who earned his reputation designing exclusive bars and restaurants like the Ivy in London.

The famed Parisian hotelier Barrière Group is venturing across the pond for the first time ever, opening a five-star hotel in Manhattan’s trendy Tribeca neighborhood. Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York will be the first American outpost of the Paris-based group, known for its stellar properties around the world. The hotel will offer 97 rooms and suites that were designed by renowned French designer Martin Brudnizki, who chose art deco as his main inspiration and lavender as one of his main colors. Blending Parisian panache with NYC cool, Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York will boast luxurious amenities like a plush screening room, a rooftop terrace, a glam pool, the Spa Diane Barrière and multiple drinking and dining options, including an outpost of the historic French brasserie Fouquet’s.
